REPORTS TO: Member Engagement Director
STATUS: Part-Time HOURS: 4:30am-9:30am
STARTING SALARY: $12.50 (Commensurate w/ Experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking new additions to our team! Our Member Associates are vital to our member and new member experience. This
position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development,
healthy living and social responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides outstanding customer service to our members as they reach their wellness goals.
2. Follows YMCA policies, procedures, and responds to emergency situations.
3. Conduct tours for prospect members using a “Listen First” approach, determining needs and offering solutions and
closing the sale.
4. Remain knowledgeable in all programs, class schedules and membership information.
5. Understand and enforce all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
6. Monitor gym, halls, parking lot and all areas within the YMCA.
7. Relate to the public, providing excellent services to members, guests and participants.
8. Handle and resolve membership questions/complaints
9. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader to promote the Y across departments.
10. Willingness to assist other departments as needed.

*Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
*Previous customer service, sales or related experience preferred.
*Ability to set the standards for and model exceptional member service and build a culture of member involvement and
engagement in all staff
*A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work creatively and independently or as part of a team
*Sound judgment and decision making as well as problem solving and interpersonal skills to relate to people of all
socio-economic levels and diverse backgrounds
*Basic knowledge of computers.
*30/60/90 Day Training Schedule for new hires.
